Sequoia Hospital Foundation wanted to honor the scholarship program that has paid tuition for hundreds of nursing school students over fifteen years. Founder Gloria Kennet recounts the founding of the program. Mrs. Kennet was honored at a reception with this video.

San Francisco Unified School District
Shoestrings supports preschool age children in an effort to break the preschool to prison pipleline impacting families and children of color. This video profiles Shoestrings staff and the ten-week program offering intensive intervention services to children.

California Education Partners seeds and grows collaborations among California’s school systems, so that they innovate, improve, and build internal capacity as learning organizations. The CALLI project is an Ed Partner's initiative and this video was part of a convening kick off.

Oakland Military Institute College Preparatory Academy was founded by Governor Jerry Brown to offer Oakland students an avenue to college. OMI sends over ninety percent of students to a four-year college or university and wanted to get the word out to prospective students and potential donors: OMI offers a private school education at a public school.

Mission High School SF
A series of videos profiled the student wellness program operating in San Francisco High Schools. Part of Mission High School's program includes the Skate Club. Students who might otherwise not have engaged decided to come to school when they knew they could skate with friends.

Social media segments
Social media can be an invaluable tool when it comes to teacher recruitment. A district can talk policy and programs but a school site is as strong as the teachers who work there. These teacher bios presented alumnae of the school who came back to give back to their respective communities.

Over the course of several interviews with staff members at multiple school sites, certain values and traits particualr to school culture became recurring topics of conversation. Those comments became their own segments fit for social media and continuing teacher recruitment.

Social media segments can introduce teachers and staff to community and give a face and personality to a school site. This can be a powerful enrollment recruitment tool especially when teachers are from the same community as prospective students.

LPS commissioned a series of teacher interviews asking the question "why do you teach at LPS?" What resulted is this video reflecting why teachers joined LPS and why they continue to work for the network of High Schools.

Silicon Valley Mathematics Initiative
The Silicon Valley Mathematics Initiative (SVMI) is a comprehensive effort to improve mathematics instruction and student learning. The Initiative is based on high performance expectations, ongoing professional development, examining student work, and improved math instruction. Model lessons along with pre lesson discussion and post lesson debrief are taped and edited and made available for ongoing professional development.
MATH IN COMMON
Lesson study
Ten school districts in California have been awarded significant support from the S.D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation to help the transition to the Common Core State Standards for Math (CCSS-M) in grades K-8. These districts will become leaders in the statewide transition to the CCSS-M and participate in a learning community where they share plans, lessons learned, and tolls with other grantee districts and statewide.
Tools for educators
Inside Mathematics grew out of the Noyce Foundation’s Silicon Valley Mathematics Initiative. SVMI is based on high performance expectations, ongoing professional development, examining student work, and improved math instruction. The initiative includes a formative and summative performance assessment system, pedagogical content coaching, and leadership training and networks. Coaches in SVMI learn strategies of re-engagement with students around mathematics assessments, and Public Lessons on re-engagement are featured here.
MISSION HIGH SCHOOL ASAP

The Athletic Scholars Advancement Program (ASAP) is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to student athletes at Mission High School. ASAP creates and cultivates a college bound culture by providing access to summer college programs, one-on-one mentoring, individualized academic guidance and college counseling services.

Custom currciulum support
Mountain View Whisman school district wanted a tool to connect home support with developing readers. The resulting series of videos were produced and updated and distributed over ten years to support elementary-aged students. The series expanded to include Mathematics skills. Initially, videos were sent home with students at conference time on DVD and later delivered online.

The San Mateo County Big Lift convening need a big opening for its Spring kickoff event. This video expressing appreciation for the work Big Lift teachers do did the job.
LEADERSHIP PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOLS
New teacher support
LeaderShip Public Charter High Schools recruits new teachers to their network of four Bay Area sites. A series of (short) videos for social media reflect the LPS strategic focus in developing new teachers through coaching and collaborative structures designed to foster professionalism and quality classroom instruction.

When ER Taylor School's funding for a Healthy Start Pre School expired, a a local business stepped in to not only keep the program afloat, but to expand services to children and families. ER Taylor became a "blue-ribbon" school, one of only two in San Francisco Unified School District, with standardized test scores normally associated with high-income communities.

Exceptional Achievement
California Department of Education rolled out the School Dashboard with a series of social media videos in multiple languages to educate parents and community on the power of the State sanctioned online school assessment tool.

Gary Waddell was a candidate for San Mateo County Superintendent of Schools. This video presents Gary's commitment to equity and access to learning for all students.

Silicon Valley Community Foundation
We partnered with First 5 and the Silicon Valley Community Foundation to create a video series for families beginning Kindergarten in San Mateo County. The videos paralleled a printed guide and featured students from several schools through San Mateo County.
THE READING BUG BOOKSTORE
Crowd sourcing
The Reading Bug is a family-owned independent book store and wanted to introduce a new service to send a monthly subscription pack to families. The video drove significant traffic to the website and helped the subscription service take off in a big way.
